Welcome to My Eclectic Spirit

I have finally made it to blogland!  What a learning curve this has been, but a fun one nonetheless.  I have been encouraged and inspired by friends and family to begin this blog and so I took a deep breath and here I am!

I hope this blog continues to be a place where I can share my creative expression in all its forms with you.  I continue to look forward to making new friends and sharing with friends I have made along the way.  I especially thank my "stampin sistas" -  Kim, Michelle, Ginger and Cindy, as well as my first copic teacher, Michele Spera of Magical Creative Inspiration.   Thank you also to Suzanne Dean who has made artists out of so many of us!

My first post is a fitting one as it is about "believing in dreams," and certainly this blog is one of them. I was inspired to enter the Color Me Creative Challenge which is on Colors of the Sea. The beach has always been a sacred place for me so this challenge called on that connection.
I selected a digi image called The Little Mermaid from Crafts and Me.  The dp is from my stash - Creative Imaginations Christine Adolph, By The Sea. I don't know if it is still available but her other "sea" collections are just as lovely. I  colored my mermaid with copics- BG000, BG0000, BG10, BG72, BG75 and BG 78.  Since she is under the sea, I finally got to use those copic fluorescent colors and added FBG2 to her fins.  I used FYR1 and FY1 for the little fish swimming around her.  Her hair was colored with E25, E31 and E50.  I added some "Buttercup" Promarker as well. Skintones were E000, E00, E11 and E13 for shading. R20 colored her cheeks.  Copic Pink and Green Spicas were used on her side fins and the flower in her hair. I used Glossy Accents and glitter in her hair only.  Last, I found a great gold pigment ink that  dries in minutes on paper (without using embossing powder or heat gun!)  It is called Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink by Tsukineko.  I used this ink to stamp the undersea fauna (Great Impression stamps).  Other touches included Wild Orchid Crafts small filigree gold corners, green crystals, and EK Success border punch for the waves. The sentiment is from Dreamy Days Circular Sentiments by Lili of the Valley. Last, the little blue shell she holds in her hands is from a bag of shells sold at Michael's! Covered it with glossy accents and glitter.
I would love for you to leave a comment....Have a great day!
