Garden Bride

Monday, Monday.. we know how that goes!  Like many of you, I am doing my last minute shopping and making preparations for Christmas... it is just a few days away! I am also looking forward to our winter break at school!  The kids are in "holiday mode" already, and I cannot blame them but oh my.. what a week it will be!
I took a much-needed break from this weekend and colored up a beautiful new image by Mo Manning called "Garden Bride". You can find her hereThis lovely bride comes in shaded and unshaded versions.  For those new to copics and "shading" having the pre-shaded images really helps you place those shadows and highlights.
I wanted her to be set in a vintage color scheme; pale peach and white/ivory.  I die cut my image with Spellbinder Ovals and Grand Scallop Ovals.  Her gorgeous gown is colored her dress with "C"and some "BV" copics to create the shading and then using Diamond Dust glitter over her veil and dress. Her flowers and roses along the hemline of her dress feature some RV, and peachy R copics. I really do play with lots of colors so I did not keep a list of them. Her skin features the usual copic skin colors (E000, E00, E11, E04 and R20).  I colored her hair using #44, 43, 42 AND 40.  Around her image, I put several Viva Decor "pearls" in ivory.
My design paper is from Pion 6x6 sheets, roses by Wild Orchid Crafts and sentiment by Create with TLC, one of my favorites for a wedding card. I added beautiful lace, a Resin Heart on which I attached some bling, gorgeous rose/rhinestone embellishment from Noor Design.  This card is available in my ETSY SHOP (see sidebar).
Hoping all of you have a wonderful holiday. I am hoping to get back into my craft room next week for more time to play, how I miss it!  Until then, have a great day, and thank you as always for your kind comments!

Happy Halloween

Happy Wednesday or should I say "Witchy Wednesday"???  Just stopping by to post a card I made just for fun for Halloween. I love Hannah Lynn images. They were among the first I ever colored when learning to work with copic markers and I still find so much to enjoy in working with them!  This is a new digi stamp by Hannah Lynn called "Happy Halloween" and you can find her here.
The digi has all three images together along with the word art at the bottom so you do not have to merge anything! Just size it, print it and color it.  The image was colored with copic markers and enhanced with Glamour Dust. I did use the florescent copics over the regular colors - I love to do that for Halloween images!
The design paper was from an old K & Company 12x12 Halloween paper pad. I embellished the image with a wonky stitched rectangle die cut, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, black tulle and some fibers tied into a bow. My little bats are courtesy of Martha Steward punch!
Thanks so much for stopping by and, as always, for your kind comments! This card is available in my ETSY shop (see sidebar)!   Have a great day!

Seasons Greetings - Winter Fairy Talva

Happy Tuesday! I am so glad to be back to share my latest card with you. My Mom was in the hospital throughout the entire summer and then required rehab after her hospital stay. Thankfully, we have her home now and she is getting better each day! Thank you to all who sent their best wishes for her!
I decided to try to make some holiday or winter cards a bit earlier this year. Seems I wait until the holidays are upon us and then the hustle and bustle takes over and... well you know!  For my card, I selected for a second time this favorite Mo Manning digital winter image, "Winter Fairy Talva".  She is  sooo much fun to color!  Of course, she is colored with copic markers- felt good to be practicing again with them!
The design paper is Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pad, "Christmas Wishes". It is so pretty and filled with non-traditional colors such as these pale lavender and turquoise as well as mint greens and rich golds.  I embellished the card with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, hand dyed seam binding, lace and pearl/rhinestone bling from Live and Love Crafts.  The branch die is from Tim Holtz.  I added a few silver beads among the flowers and my sentiment, which is a wood stamp from who knows where! LOL!  Oh the stash we collect.

Here Comes the Bride

We are having a heat wave here in NY!! No better time than to hunker down in my air conditioned craft room and create a card.
Today I am here to share a card I made featuring a digi image by Julia Spiri called "bride".
I fussy cut the digital image after coloring her with copics and mounted the image on the beautiful Pion 6x6 papers "Fairytale of Spring" design papers.  The entire card features all four papers from the 6x6 page. I also used the matching Pion solid cardstock for the floral oval die cut behind the bride. The cardstock is so sturdy but cuts beautifully with my dies.
After I colored the image, I added Glamour Dust to most of her dress and veil.  I dyed seam binding with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender distress ink to match the papers and color scheme. Last I added flowers beautiful lace and along with a flat back pearl and rhinestone button embellishment to finish my card.  Die cuts include stitched banners (Gina Marie Designs), Spellbinder Floral  Oval and Nestability ovals and Memory Box Botanical stem die. The image and die cuts were all attached using dimension tape to add a 3D layered effect.

This card is available in my ETSY store See sidebar), along with many other cards. Thank you for your kind comments. Have a great day!

Wish Big

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are having a relaxing weekend. The weather has been beautiful and it is such a nice time of year.  Flowers are blooming and my vegetable garden is also looking good!

I am stopping by to share my latest card.  A couple of weeks ago, I created a card using a beautiful image from Mo Manning called "Laura". You can see that card below.  A few days later, Mo released this adorable image and I could not wait to color her up. She is called "Kate" and I just fell in love with her at first sight. Who could resist coloring that beautiful bonnet?

I recently reorganized my paper stash and discovered a large quantitiy of specialty design paper I ordered some time ago. Once I saw this paper, I knew I would be coloring "Kate" in vintage greens.  The design paper is Inkido "Spring Time" 6x6 papers. There are four 6x6 designs on one 12 inch page- all coordinated for you and so beautiful

Kate is colored with copic markers. I usually work like a mad woman and hardly keep track of my colors but I kept track of the greens for her dress which were BG99 (darkest shading),G99,94, 84 and 40.  I added YG 21 over the G40 to give a yellow tint to the lightest color. Her apron and bonnet ribbons were colored with E81, 84 and 87. I also added E41 and colorless blender to blend the folds.  Last I added some glitter dust on her ribbons and tulip!
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Recollections.  The leaf die is called "Botanical Stem" from Memory Box. The die cut chipboard frame is from Scrapieniec available in the USA at WHS Marketplace HERE.

Last, the pretty hand dyed shabby seam binding is from Live and Love Crafts.. so many delicious colors- and the sentiment is from a Stampin Up set I have had forever. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and as always, for your kind comments. Have a great day!   I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Love Gives Us a Fairytale

Happy Wednesday!  I am stopping by today to share my design team card for Michele R Designs.  As you know, Michele has some of the most beautiful digital design papers all of which you can find HERE.  For my card, I used my all time favorite collection, "Designer Grunge." You may have seen it in several of my makes!
Before I post the full photo of the card, I must say I was inspired by a card made by my talented friend across the pond, Linda Levoir of SWG Original Designs .  Isn't it gorgeous!

I fell in love with the La La Land's Heart Doily Die which Linda used here. When I saw it on Linda's gorgeous card, I knew I had to order it and incorporate it in an upcoming card. I loved how Linda offset two die cuts and I did the same with the aqua and white Gemstone cardstock below. All of Irina's dies have amazing detail and cut so beautifully first time through the die cut machine!
In addition to the design paper which was slightly distressed, I added Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a resin butterfly, twine and a beautiful rhinestone button in the middle of the two hearts.
Last, the sentiment was from my stash!  I have an envelope of vellum quotes and I decided to back it with more "Designer Grunge" paper so that the floral design peeks through the sentiment.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments. Have a great day!

Look for Rainbows

Good Morning and Happy Monday!  Hope the weather is as beautiful where you are as it is here in New York today. After some nasty storms over the weekend, it is nice to see and feel the warm sunshine!
I am stopping by to share my latest card featuring "Laura" created by Maurie Manning. You can get this sweet digital image at Mo's Digital Pencil HERE.  The image comes with the "grass" image as well!  I had fun coloring her and adding my own sentiment which I generated  and printed out on my computer!
"Laura" is colored with copic markers and I added some glitter to her dress and glossy accents to her pail and shoes to make them look shiny.  I also used chalks to create clouds behind her using a stencil I made from some quilting template plastic. I cut scallops of different heights and sizes to  mimic clouds and sponged on chalks for a sky effect. The design paper is an oldie but goodie, I think it only available now as digital paper. It is called "Petal Fresh" by Mary Fran for Nitwit Papers HERE.
Here she is again without the "starburst" camera effects LOL... the gingham heart ribbon, blue ribbon AND those beautiful PORCELAIN (yes I said porcelain) roses that have the blue ribbon inside are all available at WHS Marketplace HERE.  The roses come in all colors and are easy to attach to your project.  Lisa is fabulous and if there is anything you want or need, just send her a message!  Again, it is so wonderful to have these products available right here in the USA!
The wooden heart, which I embellished with pearls is from Live and Love Crafts, another wonderful place I could shop forever!  They are so versatile, you can paint them, distress them and stamp on them!
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week!  As always, thank you for your kind comments.

All God's Angels Come to us Disguised

So glad the weekend is here. After a dreary, rainy and cold week, I am hoping to get some gardening done today for the few hours it may remain sunny!  Before I do, I am stopping by to share my latest make for Michele R Designs digital papers.

I just fell in love with digital stamp image from Krista Smith's Saturated Canary digital stamp line. She is called  "Curly Hair Fairy" and you can find her HERE. As many of you know, Krista will be closing her digital stamp shop in August, so if you love her images as much as we all do, get them while you can!

I colored her with copic markers.. if her hair is a bit lighter on the right side, it was because I picked up my white gel pen instead of my glue pen and ...well, you know how that goes!  Thank goodness for glitter!
I paired "Curly Hair Fairy" with digital papers from Michele R Designs called "Vintage Garden Party."
These are beautiful papers featuring turquoise, blues and vintage pinks and peach colors all in a shabby, distressed style. So much fun to work with. I used the design paper on front and the inserts for inside my card. The edges of all papers were distressed with Brushed Corduroy distress ink and blender.
You can find these digital papers in Michele's online store, HERE.

I embellished my card with beautiful burlap/lace trim and lace/pearl trim from WHS Marketplace, a fabulous online store that has many of the products I could only get internationally but now they are available here in the USA! Check out her store, HERE.

The owner, Lisa Irish, is such a pleasure to work with and my goodies arrive so fast and so beautifully packaged!  Here are pics of the ribbon I used as you cannot see too well in my photos.. Love that burlap with the lace edge!
My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The resin butterfly is from Prima and I embossed it with Bridal Tinsel embossing powder to bling it up.
Last, but never least is one of my favorite angel sentiments from Create with TLC. This sentiment truly speaks to me because I have felt touched by angels so many times and I believe they do come to us in so many ways. I used a fiskars "cloud" punch to shape my sentiment and added two more "clouds" of design paper behind it.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments. Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday- MicheleRDesigns New Release

Happy Tuesday!  I am here to share a new digital paper collection by
Michele R Designs called "Shabby Pink Charms".

Michele has added some new items to the collection. This collection features
an additional "Scrapbook Kit", frame and new sentiments, one of which I included on
my card for you today. As with most of her collections, you can add on
"elements", inserts for the inside of your card and the 12x12 papers!
For my card, I used the 6x6 papers and used one of the "inserts" as a focal point on the top layer of my card. I love using the doily design paper on which I placed my sentiment and wood frame.
These papers are layered  with Core'dinations Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Cardstock.
I love, love, love this color because it is such a beautiful soft pink yet has a touch of peach in it. Truly unique and my go-to layering cardstock for dp's that have those peachy pink colors.

I added pink velvet lace is from The Ribbon Girl along with Pearls on a string. The Kort and Godt rolled roses are from Live and Love Crafts and the curly, pink Wild Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I mounted the sentiment on a two-layer sign frame from Scrapiniec  but now they will be available from WHS Marketplace here in the United States!  I painted the sign with white acrylic paint and then added some glitter for "bling". All edges of my dp were distressed with Brushed Corduroy distress ink.
Last, I added some Prima die cut leaves, pearls and little porcelain roses from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and as always, for your kind comments!  Have a great day!

Eggs-tra Pretty- Saturated Canary Easter Card

Woo Hoo and Happy Friday. I am here today to share a card I made just making "just because" cards- this one is just because I loved the image and had to color her up!  She is one of Krista Smith's newest Saturated Canary digital stamp additions called "Eggs-tra Pretty" and you can find her here.

I was aching for something "spring time" and so I chose bright yellows and complemented them with the beautiful blue greens- all copics.. well almost all. My "hair" copics need a good cleaning and that combined with having a heavy hand when it comes to coloring hair, I had to bring my Polychromos pencils to the rescue! I distressed all edges of the paper with one of the newer Ranger Distress Ink colors- Fossilized Amber.

I used several Sizzix border dies and Spellbinder die to frame the image as well as Wild Orchid Craft flowers to embellish her. Lace and yellow flower ribbon are from WHS Marketplace.   You really should check out her "shop" as she has so many items that are from Poland and Sweden and now they are right here in the USA where shipping isn't so expensive! I added some pearls and glitter to the bow on her dress and eggs in her basket as well as areas of light on her hair. It is more visible in the pic above.
The design paper is digital paper from Raspberry Road Designs- such  breathtaking collections! This is from the "Oh So Shabby Collection" and you can find that here.   How beautiful are they!!  Last I embellished my card with ribbon, pearl  on a string and pearl/rhinestone from The Ribbon Girl.   Thanks so much for stopping by and for you kind comments! Have a great weekend!  This card, along with other items I have created, is available in my ETSY shop (see sidebar)!

and tags as well as lovely coordinating inserts to complete the inside of your cards!

She is beyond adorable and so much fun to color, which I did with my copics.

on coloring Pre-Shaded Skin in your Skin and Hair Copic Coloring class.
Also thank you to my friend, Linda Levoir, SWG Designs, for her great tutorial
on making these shaped cards!!
The lovely sentiment is from Create with TLC.  I think this one was a "freebie" which you
should check out, but here is a link to all the digital sentiments about a "smile"!
I used a Spellbinder oval to cut out my image and then layered her onto
a Gina Marie Pierced Nested Ovals ....You must check out her dies-
affordable, wide variety, and unique! The cut beautifully too!
The card is embellished with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts,
lace and twine from Live and Love Crafts and the velvet ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.
The porcelain flower in the middle of the Cheery Lynn die cut butterfly was part
of a set I purchased online.  I added a bit of Stickles to her little bouquet.
All papers were distressed with Ranger's
Brushed Corduroy and Rusty Hinge distress inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments. Have a great day!
